Eastern Poland is one of the last truly wild regions in Europe. There are animals here that have long since disappeared elsewhere.
For example, the primeval forest of Białowieża is home to around 1,500 bison – huge and enduring wild cattle. But even here, nature is in danger! How much space we allow the animals and what their future looks like is entirely in human hands.
